How it All Began

Klassen Landscape Supply’s story began when Valley Carriers’ agriculture customers wanted to landscape their yards with bark mulch. We were supplying their farms with animal bedding and realized that there was a need for supplying landscape supplies to the community.

In the late 70’s and early 80’s, we began to provide our mill supply of bark mulch to homeowners and landscapers as they would arrive with their trailers to be loaded with bark mulch. Dennis Klassen, one of our second-generation partners of the Klassen family, had the vision to have a retail outlet for customers to retrieve supplies in their pickups.

In 1991, a Kubota tractor was purchased to load customers’ vehicles and, in 1992, we opened a small landscape yard with a cedar retail shed that sold bark mulch, hog fuel, and gravel to homeowners and landscapers.

In 2015, we rebranded this division as Klassen Landscape Supply.
